Naming your brand is one of the hardest parts of owning your own business. No, really. It tells you everything about the company, or at least that’s the idea. “Bayleaf” came to me rather organically.

Get used to the puns and food-related analogies. They’re part of my Charm™️.

So here’s how it happened.

Ok, maybe my mistake wasn’t THIS bad. This is truly an awful thing.

I’m new at this whole running a business thing. There’s a lot to learn, and I’m grateful for my first clients who are putting their trust in me. Y’all are real nice.

It seems I have a knack for embarking on endeavors I have to explain to people. Ok, maybe I just like explaining things. Project management sounds exactly like what it is: I manage projects. “But Ellie,” I hear you say, “couldn’t ANYTHING be a project?” Well, yes and no.

A project has a clear start and finish, a unique outcome, and defined limitations. As a general rule, anything you do on a regular basis is likely not a project.
